I am filling in for a 1st grade teacher on maternity leave at Busbee Elementary.  I have a nice class, and wonderful parent support.  The staff and administration have been so positive toward me. The school is so sparkling clean!  And, the room has lots to offer, so I don't have to spend as much of my own money for educational items that they need.  I am going to enjoy my time until the teacher comes back.  Since I don't want to break privacy laws, I will post a picture of my recent tropical red hibiscus bloom instead.  If anyone knows me, I have a brown thumb, and tropical plants are hard to grow where I live.  I believe in enjoying the beauty when you see it!

I will be a temporary first grade substitute teacher at Busbee Elementary in Wagener, South Carolina for 2014-2015 school year.  I am filling in for another teacher on leave.  I am excited about teaching the little ones.  The classroom is looking great, and the plans are being finalized.  I am teaching in a rural setting again.  I feel like I am home!

The picture below is my first grade picture.  I can't wait to share some of my first grade stories with the students.  Praying that all teachers and students have a great school year!

PINTEREST for Teachers

I love Pinterest.  It is amazing how many ideas you can find to incorporate in your own life.  It is not just for leisure. The search box on the website allows you to find anything, including ideas for your classroom.  You can input the classroom grade level, a subject area to teach, available technology, etc....  Then you can save the best ideas for you on your own board.  I have found it to be a great resource.  Have fun searching and pinning!

Gearing Up To Teach 2014-2015

Summer is slowly coming to an end.  However, I am looking forward to a brand new teaching year!  My summer has not been so quiet.  I was a runner-up in a huge national contest called Destination America.  This brought a nice fireworks display to my hometown, Aiken.  Free parking and free fireworks show were provided for all.  I was especially glad that the children in the community had something fun to do around the Fourth.  Hope this school year brings fireworks to us all in exciting colors of success.
